Youth MEET Program
- CompletedStatus
Youth MEET (Mentorship, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Training) Program is a project funded by UNICEF’s Youth Program that seeks to spark creativity and innovation among the area’s impoverished youth. The first component of the project addresses the severe vacuum of skills among youth aged between 15-24 years of age who have been out of school for two or more years and therefore lack the ability to enter formal education and become employable. Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN) services will be provided to 100 of these youth. The second component of the project aims to provide medium-term competency vocational training, personal development, and managerial skills to 325 youth, 100 of which will benefit from on the job training. The project culminates with the launch of the Innovation LAB Network Program, which is the first lab in Tripoli, Lebanon that will target up to 320 beneficiaries and follow up with them three-months after they have completed their trainings. The primary objective of the Innovation Lab will be to offer cutting edge entrepreneurship and digital marketing trainings and help young people create inventions. INJAZ and DOT are local partners in this initiative. Another component in the Innovation Lab is a seed fund program to help youth launch their start-ups and a professional mentorship program in partnershipwith local entrepreneurs.
