a cooperation agreement between “Safadi Foundation” and AIDA

To create economic opportunities for Lebanese and refugees women in Akkar

“Safadi Foundation” represented by its General Director Mrs. Rana Mawlawi, and the Association of International Development Agencies (AIDA) represented by its President Mr. Javier Gela, have signed a cooperation agreement, within the project of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) entitled: “Support for Vulnerable Lebanese and Refugee Women: Creating Economic Opportunities and Social transformation in the districts of Dreib, Joumeh, Kaytee - Region of Akkar, Lebanon”.

The signing ceremony was attended by social and agricultural teams from “Safadi Foundation” and the AIDA organization. Mr. Gela expressed his “hope that this common cooperation would achieve the desired objectives”, affirming that “the organization seeks first and foremost to support its partners’ objectives, without imposing any special conditions”.

As for Mrs. Mawlawi, she indicated “the importance of this project, whether for working with this organization, or for merging the social and agricultural sectors”, hoping that “work with other regions and villages in Akkar, would be achieved at a later stage”.

During its implementation of one year and a half, the project aims to train 100 women in the fields of food processing and catering, in addition to training dozens of women in agricultural techniques. The project also seeks to reinforce the capacities of 4 women in the fields of management and marketing.
